Dan Wilson

LAKESIDE --- Dan (Eldon Daniel) Wilson left us February 14, 2016 to be in the presence of our Lord Jesus. Dan was at home with his wife, Elizabeth (Liz), when his heart stopped. Dan was born in Portland, Oregon on August 29, 1943, to Cager (Red) and Linnie Wilson. He was 72 years old.Dan didn't care if your were white, blue, green, black, pinto or striped, he would make friends with you. He had a strong leadership ability being president of Crest Community Association, and the E-Crest-Rians. He was employed in the ship building industry, and had a lengthy career as an agent with Glenn Mitchel Realtors.

Dan was very creative, mechanical, and loved horsepower, both on foot and in Pontiac cars and motors, as was exhibited when he raced his1955s,and 1965 GTO. Later he purchased a used Chevy pickup and a 1958 Pontiac. He transferred the 455 Pontiac motor to the Chevy pickup, then used the pickup to tow the horse trailer, with two horses in it, past all the others on the grade going to a competition in Twin Peaks. This pickup became known as the "Grey Ghost" and served his purpose for years afterwards.

Dan attended Dana Junior high and graduated from Point Loma High School, class of 1961. He loved wrestling earning a gold medal in the Junior Olympics.

Dan served at Calvary Chapel El Cajon, then at Calvary Chapel Santee. He was youth pastor at each, and also Elder at Santee. He was a very loving man, know for his generosity, kindness, humor, strong faith in God, and willingness to help. In all things he served the Lord, and those ideals will live on in his wife Elizabeth, two sons Thomas and Kevin, and three grandchildren Denise, Caleb and Roxanne, as well as countess other family members and friends.
